The seven major chakras of the body are believed to be associated with different physiological, mental, spiritual and emotional states. Each one has its own vibration and location, and has an associated color. Each one also responds to certain gemstones, called chakra stones when they’re used in chakra healing, that can be used to help clear and balance the chakras.
Chakra stones are used for this purpose because a blocked chakra is believed to be associated with problems in that physical or mental area. For instance, the crown chakra that’s located at the top of the head is associated with peace and wisdom, among other things. If this chakra is blocked or unbalanced, a person may feel restless and uneasy, and may have thoughts and feelings that are out of control and other similar issues. Using chakra stones that match the vibration of this chakra can help unblock it and bring back a sense of peace and well-being.
Using the right chakra stones is important, because using the incorrect ones can keep the situation from being resolved. It could even make the problems worse. Choosing the right gemstones for chakra healing is relatively easy, as the colors of the stones correspond to the related colors of the chakras.
Here are some examples of good chakra stones to choose for each one.
Root Chakra: This chakra located at the base of the spine is associated with the color red, and sometimes black. Stones like garnet, black obsidian and hematite—all in sharp red and black colors—are the chakra stones that can be used to help clear and balance this chakra.
Sacral Chakra: In the center of the stomach, this chakra is associated with the color orange and sometimes blue-green. Chakra stones include things like blue-green turquoise and carnelian.
Solar Plexus Chakra: This location is the solar plexus, just below your breastbone, and is associated with yellow. Good chakra stones for this spot include yellow stones like golden jasper and citrine.
Heart Chakra: The middle of your chest is associated with the color green and pink. Choose gemstones like jade, malachite and rose quartz.
Throat Chakra: This spot is at the base of the throat and associated with the color blue. Blue turquoise and blue calcite are good choices here.
Third Eye Chakra: This is located in the center of the forehead and is associated with indigo. Azurite and lapis lazuli are examples of indigo chakra stones to use here.
Crown Chakra: This is at the top of the head and typically associates with violet, though it can also be associated with gold-white. Good chakra stones for balancing here include white topaz or amethyst.
Using the correct color gemstones when trying to balance a chakra is a similar principal as is used when aligning the Human Assemblage Point which operates on many of the same principles and can be moved into a proper alignment using crystals. A study of one will almost certainly bring up a study of the other, as they all work in harmony for good health and well-being.
