Reiki attunement is the process through which one becomes a Reiki practitioner. Accessing the Reiki (Universal Life Force) energy becomes easy once one becomes attuned to Reiki. One is also able to permanently open and connect to Reiki energies on all levels. Physical, Psychological and Spiritual. Reiki masters are the only ones who can give attunements. Anybody can be initiated in to Reiki.
The sacred ritual of Reiki attunement opens many doors. It unblocks and balances all the vital energy channels in the body. Every attunement brings about higher understanding and opens higher healing levels. As Reiki begins to flow in your body and spirit, your natural healing energies expand. The attunement procedure is spiritual. The Reiki master uses Reiki symbols as well as other gestures in a stipulated way. The ceremony creates an energy pattern around the person receiving the attunement which attunes his or her energy fields to energies that the symbols stand for. If the Reiki master uses the symbol for subconscious, then the attunement is permanent. Failure to use this symbol makes the attunement short-term.
There are three formal levels of Reiki attunement.
In the course of Reiki level 1, the person being initiated into Reiki becomes permanently connected and attuned to the Reiki source of healing energy. This initiation enables the initiate to execute healing on himself or on others. To activate the flow of Reiki requires no special spell or any change of the process of thinking. Opening the heart to love is necessary. This level deals with physical matters and must be mastered before the initiate can be considered for the next level as this is the basis of the initiation.
Once attuned to Reiki 1, the initiate goes in to Reiki level 2. Here, the initiate is attuned again so that he can better connect to the energies that provide healing to mental and emotional issues and that travel over time and distance. Now the initiate can heal people who are far off and even animals.
Reiki level 3 is also referred to as the master level. When attuned to this level, all Reiki energy is unlocked. Now the initiate can perform Reiki attunements to other people. To get to this level, one must have already been attuned to Reiki level 1 and 2.
If you are one of the many out there who have probably engaged in energy work who might question why it is necessary to be initiated into something you already believe exists, remember initiation is the admission to the knowledge or instruction in the elements of any subject or practice. The initiation ritual is important as the beginner would not be able to believe in the natural gift from the spirit of healing self and others in the absence of the actual ritual.
